Momo

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to sit down with a very remarkable woman. She has seen so many things change and can also tell you what has stayed the same. The one thing you can always count on with her is her love for her family. This is my Grandmother (Momo). I love talking with her and she is always full of stories, sayings and truthful criticism.

Its really was a pleasure being able to sit down with her a take these pictures in my studio.

Kelly & Dave's Wedding

Thank you Kelly and Dave for asking me to shoot your special day. Your families were a lot of fun to be around. I wish you guys the best and I will see you around work Dave.

These latest photos are from the third "backyard special" wedding. I really enjoy these type of weddings because they are so much more personal than the large venue wedding. They are just as challenging as the large venue wedding but because the wedding is in a backyard, the family and friends are so much more relaxed and closer to the action.

Big THANX to my assistant on her first wedding shoot with me.

Dancing Lights

One evening, we were driving home for somewhere and I had the rare opportunity of riding at night. Well this gave me the chance to snap a few shots of the moon and to try something new and deliberate. The objective was to create images with strands of lights but I did not expect the dancing effect. In some of the images, the moon dances along the top of the frame. In a few others you can see the BART train passing us on the left. This was nice clean simple fun and the best part was, I didn't have to drive at night this trip.

A Little Lightening Followed by Thunder!!!

Living in the Bay Area means we miss out on all of the house shaking thunder and lightening storms of the midwest and east. So when they do appear, it brings out the kid in me. One night/morning I woke up to flashes and booms. Soon the flashes and booms occurred simultaneously. The storm was right above the houses. This meant, throw safety to the wind and go out front and shoot this thing. It was awesome, I'm glad I have a porch on the front of the house. The result of my eagerness are here. I hope you enjoy them.

H Two Ohhhh

Ok this post may seem a little random but while I was sitting here editing wedding photos from this weekend, I was drinking some water. So the thought bubble appeared above my head and out came the idea for this post.

Water, over 70% of the earth....ok just kidding. I am not going there. Enjoy the photos and drink more water.

Susan & Anthony

Seems as if the theme for most of shoots are set on windy days...well this one was possibly the windiest day of all. All plans were to go out to a park and let the shoot transpire however it would. But no, no such luck so we were back in the studio again.

Anthony and Susan are family members of good friend who happens to be a coworker of mine. We had so much fun interacting together, he is truly a HAM in front of the lens (So is Susan). Thanks to both of them, Sylvia, Mom, and Saida for helping out during the shoot. Believe it or not, most of the help needed was to try and relax Susan..."Work it Girl!"

The Photo Shoot

While I enjoy posting photos, I want to take some time to explain how I like to shoot. I think the first thing is to establish trust and create a friendship. The next thing I like to do is to find something that makes my client "tick". Something they are passionate about. Next I apply a layer of LAUGHTER and FUN. Second to last is good music. Music has a way of relaxing people and making them feel comfortable. Finally I like to add a combination of things...Canon camera bodies, great Canon glass (lenses), Alien Bee's lighting (in-studio) and some basic backdrops. My favorite glass to use is the Canon 70-200mm L f/2.8 IS. Its big and heavy but well worth it in the end.

The Brazilian's Are Coming....Well They Are All Gone Now

For those family members and close friends you already know about our Au Pair experiment. Well we invited some young women into our home to care for our children...it didn't go exactly how we envisioned but we met a number of young women and one young man that were in the au pair program. The young women shown here were friends of our au pair and were wonderful. I am proud to call them my friends and they are welcomed back to our home whenever they come back to the States.

Tais, Andressa and Bianca, thank you for being real friends inside and out, and thank you for the wonderful afternoon we spent together.
